3 Police Cars Smashed Outside of Olympia Justice Center (USA)

3 Police Cars Smashed Outside of Olympia Justice Center

On the night of December 16th, 3 police cruisers parked outside of Olympia’s Creighton Justice Center (home of the Olympia municipal jail and municipal court) had windows smashed out.

This particular day was picked in conjunction with the international call for solidarity with the Barcelona 5, accused of the bomb attack against the Roman-Catholic cathedral in Zaragoza, Spain. Two, who remain in pre-trial custody, Monica Caballero and Francisco Solar, were also recently the targets of prosecution in the Chilean Anarchist Bombs Case (2010-2012). They both confronted that trial and 9 months of incarceration with dignity. They inspired the international anarchist community and so now we want to show our support for them and our hatred of the repressive forces with this act of rebellion. Solidarity means attack!

The Olympia Police are a manifestation of the same apparatus of repression that tries to control our comrades overseas. This control and repression exists in the US in abundance as well. For example, on November 19th in Durham, North Carolina, the police brutally murdered 17-year-old Chuey Huerta while he was being detained in the back seat of their cruiser. With our action we also send a heartfelt message of solidarity to all those who are suffering the loss of a loved one at the hands of the police, particularly those in Durham, NC.

The only thing in the back of these cruisers tonight will be the shattered egos of the OPD, to whom we send a big FUCK YOU!

Finland: Independence day marked by anarchist inspired riot

Finnish Independence Day 6th of December was again celebrated by a big ball that is usually held in Presidential Palace in Helsinki. However, because of renovations of the Palace, the celebrations moved this year to Tampere. The counter event Kiakkovierasjuhlat (Hockey Guest Party) was a word play of the original Kuokkavierasjuhlat (Uninvited Guest Party) that was held several times in Helsinki a decade ago. Hockey theme came from the Tampere as a major hockey city and also it was to represent Ice Hockey as a working class sport opposed to the pompous gala in the very bourgeois monument in the city (Tampere House – the venue for the presidential celebrations).

Hockey Guests ended up trashing the image of “national unity”. Just a week or so ago there was announcements of some major austerity measures. The discussion of riots, consequences of austerity policies etc. have been dominating the news since.

Although on a Global, European or even a Nordic scale this was hardly even a riot, in Finnish scale this was a major one.

Maybe more about it later. Now just a video:

The video ends where the actual demonstration ends. However, after the anarchist organizers announced quits, someone shouted “fuck it! let’s go back!” and about 200 people – many of them quite drunk, it was a Friday night – came spontaneously back to the Tampere House where there was some new rioting, more tear gas and police horses and in the end 28 participants, most of them very drunk, got arrested. Several cops were injured, two ended up having a sick leave. Last two of the arrested were released on Sunday.

Six RCMP Cars Destoryed By Rampaging Bad Ass

This is already sounding like a blockbuster movie in the in the making, stolen Jeep drives into a mall parking lot and heads directly into an unsuspecting cop car parked at the community policing center, then dashes out of the stolen vehicle  and into a five-tonne truck where he runs over five more cop cars and a city of Burnaby van. Brilliant!

Unfortunately the cops arrested the 38-year old Surrey bad ass for his courageous one-man rampage that destroyed six police cruisers and flooded the emergency room of Burnaby General Hospital. I guess he needed to cool off.

Excerpt from the Provence:

The suspect is believed to have driven a stolen Jeep from Surrey to the mall, where he then had an initial collision, hitting a police cruiser parked near the detachment’s community policing office.

The man then got out of the Jeep and managed to start up a five-tonne truck that was in the parking lot.

From there he ran into and over the six police vehicles and a van owned by the City of Burnaby.

“It is almost like right out of a movie,” said Burnaby RCMP Staff Sgt. Major John Buis as he looked over the six smashed RCMP cars and the Burnaby van.

“This is a very unique incident,” he added.

The man is alleged to have rammed the stolen truck into the police cruisers at 1:20 a.m. Sunday.

According to Buis, the man was apprehended after he tried to run from the scene after colliding with a hydro pole while in the truck.

Despite the loss six fully loaded police cruisers, Buis said day-to-day operations will not be impacted.

The suspect was taken into custody and charged with mischief and theft over $5,000.

Burnaby RCMP are also trying to determine exactly what happened at Burnaby General early Sunday.

A burst pipe flooded the emergency ward, forcing hospital staff to transfer patients to other parts of the facility.

Buis said the suspect was handcuffed when police took him from the truck crash, but when medical staff at Burnaby General went to check him, the cuffs were off.

“It was a split second and he was able to reach up and pull down the sprinkler system,” said Buis. He said the suspect was taken to Burnaby General to have a mental evaluation.

The emergency ward at BGH is open but hospital officials are asking people to use other hospitals if possible, until the problem is resolved. A hospital official said Sunday night the damage figure has yet to be determined.

The suspect in the cruiser crunch-up is well known to police for charges involving property, drugs and failure to comply.

Burnaby Mayor Derek Corrigan said he did not know the cost of the cruisers. There is insurance, Corrigan said, but it is unclear if the damage will be covered.

“You expect mental illness with something like this,” he said. “Obviously someone was seriously out of control.”

The man is also being investigated for damage to a sprinkler that caused a flood at the Fraser Health treatment facility in Surrey.”

They immediately think mental illness because only an insane person would target a bunch of cop cars. When he escaped from the cop car and pulled the alarm, maybe he thought they would evacuate and he could evade and tell his story. That really would sound live a movie. Shit, I would pay $14 bucks to see it.

This has happened before. In Vermont a tractor driving farmer ran over every car in the police station parking lot.

From Gawker:

Allegedly unhappy about being arrested recently on marijuana possession and resisting arrest charges, a Vermont farmer armed himself with a tractor and proceeded to flatten seven police cruisers in the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department parking lot.

With every last one of their cars squashed, deputies were unable to chase suspect Roger Pion, 34, down as he drove away. “We had nothing to pursue him with,” Chief Deputy Philip Brooks told the Associated Press.

Police in Newport eventually tracked Pion down and arrested him.

No injuries were reported, but the cruisers were totaled. “The radios are ruined, the radar detectors, the cages in the cars,” Sheriff Kirk Martin said. “We’re going to have to get the jaws of life up here to pry the trunks open and see about the rifles and shotguns.”

All told, Pion’s rampage caused some $300,000 in damage and took out half the department’s fleet. It is believed that he was mad about a recent arrest and harassment by the pigs.

FAI Destroys ATMs and Gas Pumps in Canada in Solidarity Against Tar Sands Pipelines

from Earth First Newswire via Vancouver Media Coop

Alberta tar sands

Alberta tar sands

Early morning, on Wednesday November 6th a Royal Bank Of Canada had all 2 of their ATMs smashed and 4 of their windows. This was an easy target as it was far on East Hastings in Burnaby. The RBC was attacked because they help fund the most destructive project on earth, the Alberta Tar Sands.

The next early morning, a Chevron on 1st and Nanaimo had 9 of its 12 pumps smashed, effectively shutting it the fuck down. This has no doubt cost Chevron tens of thousands of dollars due to damages and lost revenue. It was easily done with a hammer and took about 1-3 swings each pump. Chevron was attacked because it is a majority shareholder of the Pacific Trail Pipeline. The Pacific Trail Pipeline (PTP) is an already approved Natural Gas pipeline but the Unist`ot`en** have built a blockade right on the path of this pipeline. As anarchists we have nothing but solidarity for the Unist`oten and will do everything we can to assist them in their struggle against all corporations who wish to destroy their land and the colonial governments who wish to assist the corporations as it runs parallel with the anarchist struggle.

To other activists and environmental groups, this anti-pipelines movement will either be anti-capitalist or nothing. It will either be a mix of violent tactics and peaceful ones or it will be ineffective. It will either be against this colonial government or unsuccessful. We understand the misery and despair of this society and capitalism can be very uninspiring and depressing but there is nothing more liberating, while this society exists, than to smash, burn, loot and bomb something that is smashing your life everyday. We hope these actions inspires you to take some risks. Find your comfort zone and then challenge it.

We understand that it can be scary to commit illegal acts so its best to start small and gain your confidence and skills. Try posturing around your city and move on to paint bombing to targeted graffiti. So on and so forth. The best way to break a window is on the corner where there is less flex. An ATM takes one or two strikes with an hard object. Be careful with ATMs through they usual have high definition cameras so cover your whole face. Glasses or snow goggles would work great. Dress is loose black clothing bearing no logs. If you use other clothing ditch it right after. Black shoes work great. You can also wear different colour shoes and wear socks over them and ditch the socks after you caused some havoc.

The Unist’ot’en camp practices free prior and informed consent protocol before allowing outsiders onto traditional lands.

“The Unist’ot’en Camp is a resistance community whose purpose is to protect sovereign Wet’suwet’en territory from several proposed pipelines from the Tar Sands Gigaproject and shale gas from Hydraulic Fracturing Projects in the Peace River Region.

Wet’suwet’en territory, which extends from Burns Lake to the Coastal Mountains, is sovereign territory which has never been ceded to the colonial Canadian state; the Wet’suwet’en are not under treaty with the Canadian government. Their territory, therefore, is and always will be free, and belongs to the Wet’suwet’en people alone.

Since July of 2010, the Wet’suwet’en have established a camp in the pathway of the Pacific Trails Pipeline. Likhts’amisyu hereditary chief Toghestiy states, “Unist’ot’en and Grassroots Wet’suwet’en have consistently stated that they will not allow such a pipeline to pass through their territory. The federal and provincial governments, as well as Indian Act tribal councils or bands, have no right or jurisdiction to approve development on Unist’ot’en lands. By consulting only with elected Indian Act tribal councils and bands, the Canadian government breaks its own laws as outlined in the 1997 Supreme Court of Canada Delgamuukw decision which recognizes Hereditary adjudication processes.”

Freda Huson, spokeswoman for the Unist’ot’en Clan, states: “Pacific Trails Pipeline does not have permission to be on our territory. This is unceded land. Through emails and in meetings, we have repeatedly said NO. Pacific Trail Pipeline’s proposed route is through two main salmon spawning channels which provide our staple food supply. We have made the message clear to Pacific Trails, Enbridge, and all of industry: We will not permit any pipelines through our territory.”

The Unist’ot’en clan is against all pipelines slated to cross through their territories. This includes Enbridge Northern Gateway, Pacific Trails, Coast Gas Link, Kinder Morgan’s northern proposal, and others. Pacific Trails Pipeline is the most pressing and immediate threat to the community. Enbridge pipeline would be built side by side to – with essentially the same right of way as Pacific Trails, thus raising concerns that the Pacific Trails Pipeline might ‘blaze a trail’ for the Enbridge project.`

Solidarity with Steve!

from Solidarity with Steve:

In late July of 2012, our friend Steve received a phone call from a man identifying himself as a FBI agent. He was told that a subpoena had been issued for him to appear before a federal Grand Jury investigating the vandalism of the Kenzo Nakamura Court of Appeals*. This phone call happened in conjunction with three other people being served subpoenas in Olympia and Portland, as well as house raids in Portland. Although Steve is a  known anarchist in the Northwest, who has been subjected to state harassment before, up until this moment he has not been served or indicated as a suspect of the ongoing Grand Jury investigation targeting anarchists.

His life has been severely impacted by the course of events. He has made the choice to leave his former life behind in order to resist the Grand Jury on his own terms. This means that Steve has gone without face-to-face contact with his family, friends, and loved ones for many months.

The investigation and subsequent repression is still very much alive even though former prisoners, Maddy, Matt and Kteeo are now out of prison. The potential for criminal indictments remains a real possibility. Also, the effects of imprisonment and future threats of going back to prison, which could happen if any of the three are charged with criminal contempt,  are not something that ends once one has left the prison walls behind.

While Steve has been doing his best to adjust to life in a new place, it has not been an easy transition. He is in a really rough spot right now, being thousands of miles away from his home and not knowing when he will be able to return. He has already been physically and verbally harassed by the state forces in his new location, and is having a hard time finding employment due to not having status and language barriers. At the same time, he has been doing his best to keep his spirits high and is grateful for all the support and solidarity he has received so far, and for the new friends he has made. The fact remains that life inside capitalist society is expensive, and at this point he has no income whatsoever. Please consider donating to Steve so he can take care of his rent, bills, transportation costs, and everything else this life forces us to pay for. As little or much as you can, anything helps.

*It is important to note that Steve stands in solidarity and complicity with all those accused of damaging the Kenzo Nakamura Court House.

No Raven Mine Attack on BMO

Originally From Vancouver Media Coop

Last night Bank Of Montreal (BMO) had all their windows smashed. This branch was located on 2515 East Hastings Vancouver in so called British Columbia. BMO was targeted not only because it is a symbol of capitalism but because it banks with Compliance Energy Corporation. They are in the coal industry. They are in the business of destroying the land, the water and the wildlife. After all they are capitalist assholes that don’t care about you or me.

Compliance Energy Corporation (CEC), plan to dig up over 28,000 hectares of land stretching from Fanny Bay to Campbell River, and has claims to even more. It is looking at both underground and open pit mining. With the Raven Mine, the company plans to extract 30 million tonnes of raw coal in the next 16 years, shipping out 13 million tonnes, and leaving behind 17 million tonnes (nine million cubic meters) of potentially acid-generating rejects in the hills above Baynes Sound.

This has to be stopped. This will be stopped. Bank Of Montreal you will be attacked again and again until you are nothing. Raven Mine will fail. Compliance Energy will fail. Anarchists are always watching and we will not back down. We will never back down.

Fuck Raven Mine!

Fuck Bank of Montreal!

For the end of all resource extraction.
