Arsonists target summer home of ex socialist PM Costas Simitis

Counter-terrorism officers were on Friday examining the remains of a makeshift bomb that detonated in the early hours of the morning outside the summer home of former socialist prime minister Costas Simitis in Aghioi Theodoroi, near Corinth, causing widespread damage but no injuries.

Noone was in the house at the time of the suspected arson attack which destroyed the house’s living room and kitchen, according to the fire service. The perpetrators had planted the bomb in front of the main balcony door which they had doused with petrol, according to sources. The authorities were alerted after the fire caused by the device set off the house’s alarm system.

Simitis, whose primary residence in the capital, was prime minister under PASOK between 1996 and 2004.

Arrests after Exarchia police station attack

A 26-year-old man accused of being part of a group of around 30 people that threw rocks and Molotov cocktails at a police precinct in Exarchia, central Athens, on Friday is due to appear before a magistrate on Tuesday to face charges that include attempted grievous bodily harm and illegal possession of explosives.

The suspect was arrested immediately after the raid, which caused damage but no injuries.

Two more men, aged 18 and 20, were arrested a little later but they are to face misdemeanor charges.

A posting on the Indymedia website on Sunday claimed the attack was carried out in solidarity with five men being held on suspicion of being members of the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire.

Bomb scare at appeals court proves false

Police on Tuesday evacuated the Athens appeals court on central Loukareos Street as a bomb disposal crew swept the building following an anonymous telephone call earlier in the day saying that a bomb had been placed in the premises.

The call was made at 11.20 a.m. to Vima FM radio station, warning that an explosive device was timed to go off at 11.55 a.m. at the Athens appeals court.

The building was evacuated as a precautionary measure while explosives experts continued to search the premises for explosives.

3 Police Cars Smashed Outside of Olympia Justice Center (USA)

3 Police Cars Smashed Outside of Olympia Justice Center

On the night of December 16th, 3 police cruisers parked outside of Olympia’s Creighton Justice Center (home of the Olympia municipal jail and municipal court) had windows smashed out.

This particular day was picked in conjunction with the international call for solidarity with the Barcelona 5, accused of the bomb attack against the Roman-Catholic cathedral in Zaragoza, Spain. Two, who remain in pre-trial custody, Monica Caballero and Francisco Solar, were also recently the targets of prosecution in the Chilean Anarchist Bombs Case (2010-2012). They both confronted that trial and 9 months of incarceration with dignity. They inspired the international anarchist community and so now we want to show our support for them and our hatred of the repressive forces with this act of rebellion. Solidarity means attack!

The Olympia Police are a manifestation of the same apparatus of repression that tries to control our comrades overseas. This control and repression exists in the US in abundance as well. For example, on November 19th in Durham, North Carolina, the police brutally murdered 17-year-old Chuey Huerta while he was being detained in the back seat of their cruiser. With our action we also send a heartfelt message of solidarity to all those who are suffering the loss of a loved one at the hands of the police, particularly those in Durham, NC.

The only thing in the back of these cruisers tonight will be the shattered egos of the OPD, to whom we send a big FUCK YOU!

Arson at Belgian Prison Director’s Home and Other Anti-Prison News

incendie_directeur_de_Brugesfrom Contra Info

Fire and flames at the home of the prison director of Bruges – In the night of Wednesday the 11th December 2013, an arson struck the house of Jurgen van Poecke, director of the prison of Bruges. His two cars, an Audi and a Citroën, parked in front of his villa (Kespier Street in Asbeek), were destroyed by flames. The fire erupted at 4am, and the flames spread to the garage of the villa, which has been destroyed, too. Nobody got wounded, but the villa was declared uninhabitable since there’s no more electricity, water or heating. The prison of Bruges isn’t only known as the most secured and biggest of Belgium; it also contains a much hated isolation module, designed to break the rebel spirits. A small documentary has been made about the particular high security wing in Bruges; you can watch it on this video.

Responsibilities – A year ago, the company Marinx installed its buildings in Sirault. With it, the company brought the roaring of trucks and engines. In this context of hostilities of the persons living in Sirault against the nuisances of the company, the house of Geoffrey Marinx, CEO of the company, went up in flames. There was not yet anybody living in this villa; the CEO planned to go there next month… Did he get the message?

Attacking the collaborators – The construction of new prisons (13 new prisons are being planned or built in Belgium; in other words, even more space to lock up people and asphyxiate the social question through repressive and security reinforcements ) also depends on the companies building them. To fight against these new prisons is therefore also to put sand in the machinery of this collaborator companies. In the night of the 10th of November 2013, unknown persons broke the windows of the Study and Research Center for Architecture and Urbanism (CERAU), on the Avenue des Courses 20 in Brussels. These architects collaborated with the construction of the new prison of Marche-en-Famenne, which opened its doors in the beginning of November. You can find lists of collaborating companies on-line, for example on La Cavale.

No Raven Mine Attack on BMO

Originally From Vancouver Media Coop

Last night Bank Of Montreal (BMO) had all their windows smashed. This branch was located on 2515 East Hastings Vancouver in so called British Columbia. BMO was targeted not only because it is a symbol of capitalism but because it banks with Compliance Energy Corporation. They are in the coal industry. They are in the business of destroying the land, the water and the wildlife. After all they are capitalist assholes that don’t care about you or me.

Compliance Energy Corporation (CEC), plan to dig up over 28,000 hectares of land stretching from Fanny Bay to Campbell River, and has claims to even more. It is looking at both underground and open pit mining. With the Raven Mine, the company plans to extract 30 million tonnes of raw coal in the next 16 years, shipping out 13 million tonnes, and leaving behind 17 million tonnes (nine million cubic meters) of potentially acid-generating rejects in the hills above Baynes Sound.

This has to be stopped. This will be stopped. Bank Of Montreal you will be attacked again and again until you are nothing. Raven Mine will fail. Compliance Energy will fail. Anarchists are always watching and we will not back down. We will never back down.

Fuck Raven Mine!

Fuck Bank of Montreal!

For the end of all resource extraction.
