Brighton: Squatters attack cops with bottles and paintbombs, then set trap which leaves one cop with broken ribs (UK)

Just over a week ago, an Interim Possession Order was served on a squatted church in Brighton. Deciding to resist the IPO, the squatters barricaded the building, and took to the roof in protest and a large group of people gathered outside.

A Banner was hung from the roof stating “The meek shall squat the earth” in reference to some religious nonsense found within the church, and a black flag was flown whilst the squatters maintained a presence on the roof for 3 consecutive days.

Out of the numerous police patrols that passed, one cocky sergeant decided to parade around the church and threatened that the police would return at 5am in the morning to evict the squatters.

Having successfully pissed off the squatters, the next police car to pass was subject to a hail of paint bombs and projectiles, as were the police as they fled their vehicles and set up a cordon around the church.

Shortly after, the squatters fled the church and a police helicopter was mobilised to pursue them. Three individuals were subsequently arrested and all others escaped.

Upon entering the church, one copper was apparently hospitalised after discovering what the police described as a “man trap”.

Never give up! A.C.A.B.

5E3 : Seattle solidarity demo at Mexican consulate for the arrested comrades accused of molotov attack

From Anarchist News

This afternoon, February 11th, there was a demonstration at the Mexican consulate in Seattle, in solidarity with Carlos Lopez and other prisoners of the Mexican state. A group of about 20 people chanted Carlos’ name as well as anti-border and anti-prison slogans, and a synopsis of the case and a statement by Carlos were read over a megaphone. There were two banners that said “Solidarity to all captured comrades” and “Solidaridad es mas fuerte que los carceles! Presxs a la calle!” We stood around and handed out leaflets to passers-by for about 15 minutes, then went inside the consulate and read Carlos’ statement again, and left and dispersed on our own accord.

Carlos is one of three people arrested on January 5th in Mexico City in relation to a firebomb attack on a Nissan Dealership and the Ministry of Communication and Transportation. Collectively known as the 5E3, they are being held on a special 40-day extension and are being investigated for sabotage, organized crime, and terrorism.

Capitalism, domination, and control are global, therefore anarchist solidarity is international as well. All prisons and borders must be destroyed, whether Mexican, Canadian, US, or any other. We feel particularly inspired by the 5E3′s resilience in the face of state repression because we have also faced intense state repression in the last year and a half in the Pacific Northwest. Much like civil contempt in the United States is used in an attempt to break us, the 40-day arraigo is a similar attempt by the Mexican state to force compliance on the part of those physically locked up as well as those who might be inspired by attacks on the state and capitalism.

Compxs, we wish you continued strength in the battles to come. With solidarity, non-cooperation with the state, and care for each other, you will get through this.

Bloomington, IN: Police Cars Attacked in Solidarity with Anarchist Comrades Imprisoned in Mexico

From Anarchist News

Late at night on Friday the 17th we crept up to a police substation and attacked several police cars with rocks in solidarity with anarchist comrades arrested in Mexico. Fallon Poisson, Amelie Pillierst and Carlos López Mart were arrested on January 5th under suspician of a Molotov attack on the Ministry of Communication and Transportation and a Nissan dealership in Mexico City, and are currently being held without bail. Neither innocent nor guilty, we extend our solidarity to them.

We also act in solidarity with the prisoners in Westville Correctional Facility refusing disgusting bland worthless sack lunches and demanding better food and conditions. Fuck IDOC, fuck Aramark.

Solidarity with all comrades in prison or facing repression!

Fuck cops, here and there!

Prisoners to the streets!

Ni culpables ni inocentes, solo consecuentes!

Secwepemc Women Warrior Society Disrupt Meeting, No to Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain Pipeline

rom No One is Illegal

Tuesday, January 14, 2014, Tk’emlups, unceded, unsurrendered Secwepemc Nation, (Kamloops, Bc, Canada)

Secwepemc Women Warrior Society said a resounding No! to the Kinder Morgan pipeline today at an illegal engagement session between government and elected chief and council in Kamloops. The session was to push forward the federal government’s recent Eyford report on West Coast energy infrastructure and supposed “tanker safety”.

The women’s opposition is to the Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain pipeline proposing to cut through the heart of Secwepemc Nation, crossing countless clean rivers, creeks and streams, carrying 890,000 barrels of crude oil per day, coming from the controversial Alberta Tar Sands.

According to Secwepemc Women Warrior Society, Defenders of Mother Earth: “We take this uncompromising stance of No Pipelines! No Infrastructure! that is threatening our Sacred Water. We need clean water for our future. Without clean water there is no life.”

Vancouver BC: Bank Fire Bombed In Solidarity With Imprisoned Comrades In Mexico City

From Anarchist News: http://anarchistnews.org/content/bank-fire-bombed-solidarity-imprisoned-comrades-mexico-city

On the 9th of January, we answered a call for solidarity with stolen anarchist comrades in Mexico City, Fallon Poisson, Amelie Pillierst and Carlos López Mart. We crept up to a HSBC bank on East Hastings, in occupied Coast Salish Territory (Vancouver, BC), and lit an incendiary device in the ATM area causing a massive fire ball. HSBC is a symbol of capitalism, oppression and domination. So it’s a perfect target for our rage.

This also comes in a time where Canada’s justice minister Peter Mackay is warning activists to not commit illegal actions toward stopping the pipelines. Mackay you can shove your warnings up your fucking ass. The state’s and corporations dreams of massive resource extraction will go up in flames of revolt from the streets to late night sabotage and destruction. The need for freedom, anarchy and liberation will destroy this colonial state. Our acts of sabotage are uncontrollable, strategic and successful. This attack on HSBC is only the beginning of sabotage the will and is occurring. We are also in solidarity with Miq’maq warriors and other protesters still facing charges and harassment by the RCMP pigs and the Canadian state from anti-fracking protests in Elsipogtog.

SOLIDARITY WITH COMRADES FACING IMPRISONMENT IN MEXICO CITY!
SOLIDARITY WITH ALL LAND DEFENDERS AND ANARCHIST COMRADES!
SABOTAGE THE SYSTEMS OF SOCIAL CONTROL, DOMINATION, PATRIARCHY AND OPPRESSION!
LONG LIVE ANARCHY!

Street Battles in Hamburg as Activists Defend Rosa Flora Squat

from ContraInfo

The main demo was scheduled for 2pm, starting at the Rote Flora squat, located on Schulterblatt street in the Schanze district, but there were a couple more calls for street protest before and after this one.

flora-bleibt6

More than 7,000 participated in Saturday’s protest (others estimate a total of 10,000 people) against attempted eviction of the Rote Flora squat, a building occupied for over 24 years, threatened to be sold by owner Klausmartin Kretschmer. Additionally, the mobilization referred to the right to stay for refugees and the Esso houses at the Reeperbahn, but was also directed against gentrification, daily surveillance, and repression within the “danger zones” (authorities are calling parts of Hamburg danger zones, like the area where the Rote Flora squat is located). Meanwhile, in the early hours of Sunday, December 15th, the Esso houses were evacuated by police and municipal authorities on the pretext of danger of collapse.

hh-21.126

On December 21st, the police attacked a large contingent of protesters shortly after the beginning of the noon demo in the Schanze district, to prevent people from continuing the protest. The Hamburg police announced that the demonstration “started too early” and was therefore stopped; later they claimed that first they were attacked, and then unleashed a crackdown. Truth is the demo was halted at circa 20 meters from the Rote Flora squat, when the cops used water cannons, baton charges and pepper spray against protesters. Despite the repression blows, many demonstrators fought back, and it came to strong clashes. Police forces were pelted with stones, bottles, fireworks, smoke-bombs, and other objects. In addition, construction barriers and other materials were used for street barricades. The situation went out of control, and cops were massively attacked. Amid street battles, two cops reportedly drew their weapons at people (a rumor regarding a warning shot has not been confirmed), and repression forces kettled almost the whole of Schanze. Many protesters were heavily injured by cops, while anti-riot squads attempted to detain demonstrators en masse, but mostly to split blocs and chase people away.

The Hamburg police announced that 19 people were taken into custody, investigated for ‘committing a breach of the peace’. The legal aid team (Ermittlungsausschuss Hamburg) counted approximately 260 arrests/detentions, and more than 500 injured protesters. One of the arrestees, who did not have German documents, was kept in custody.

Hamburg’s free radio FSK transmitted live reports from the streets all day.

Later that evening, protesters tried to carry out further rallies and spontaneous actions in the inner city, and some skirmishes broke out. Spontaneous gathering and barricading took place in front of the Esso houses, too. Around the St. Pauli district, some of the actions included attacks on the Empire Riverside Hotel, stores, cars (smashed windows), the Hamburger Sparkasse (Haspa) and other bank branches. Surprise demonstrations and direct actions took place the whole night. At the same time, solidarity actions were called in other parts of Germany.

Solidarity to the Oranienplatz protest camp, the Rote Flora squat, the Esso houses initiative, and all combative refugees and migrants!

Report from December 20th

One day before the big demonstration on December 21st, investor Gert Baer and owner Klausmartin Kretschmer demanded the eviction of the Rote Flora squat. Even though it would take them months to get a judicial decision on such an eviction, their ultimatum was a direct provocation.

Late in the evening, the Davidwache cop station at the Reeperbahn was effectively attacked by more than 200 people (see videos here: iii).

Arsonists target summer home of ex socialist PM Costas Simitis

Counter-terrorism officers were on Friday examining the remains of a makeshift bomb that detonated in the early hours of the morning outside the summer home of former socialist prime minister Costas Simitis in Aghioi Theodoroi, near Corinth, causing widespread damage but no injuries.

Noone was in the house at the time of the suspected arson attack which destroyed the house’s living room and kitchen, according to the fire service. The perpetrators had planted the bomb in front of the main balcony door which they had doused with petrol, according to sources. The authorities were alerted after the fire caused by the device set off the house’s alarm system.

Simitis, whose primary residence in the capital, was prime minister under PASOK between 1996 and 2004.

Arrests after Exarchia police station attack

A 26-year-old man accused of being part of a group of around 30 people that threw rocks and Molotov cocktails at a police precinct in Exarchia, central Athens, on Friday is due to appear before a magistrate on Tuesday to face charges that include attempted grievous bodily harm and illegal possession of explosives.

The suspect was arrested immediately after the raid, which caused damage but no injuries.

Two more men, aged 18 and 20, were arrested a little later but they are to face misdemeanor charges.

A posting on the Indymedia website on Sunday claimed the attack was carried out in solidarity with five men being held on suspicion of being members of the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire.

Bomb scare at appeals court proves false

Police on Tuesday evacuated the Athens appeals court on central Loukareos Street as a bomb disposal crew swept the building following an anonymous telephone call earlier in the day saying that a bomb had been placed in the premises.

The call was made at 11.20 a.m. to Vima FM radio station, warning that an explosive device was timed to go off at 11.55 a.m. at the Athens appeals court.

The building was evacuated as a precautionary measure while explosives experts continued to search the premises for explosives.

Three ATMs targeted in Athens

Three bank ATMs were targeted by unknown assailants in the early hours of Friday in Athens. The cash dispensers were located in the areas of Galatsi, Neos Kosmos, and Papagou. The three attacks took place within a span of eight minutes.

According to initial police reports, the ATMs were doused with inflammable liquid and set on fire.

Anarchists Take Credit for Calendar Theft

Below is the local news coverage, which includes a video if you follow the link, followed by the original claim of responsibility posted to Atlanta Indymedia on December 5th. The news reports the group took roughly 200 calendars. A simple search illustrates that these calendars are about $10 a piece.

From http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/anarchists-take-credit-mall-georgia…

An anonymous group has come forward and confessed to stealing dozens of racy calendars from a Mall of Georgia kiosk and replacing them with protest signs.

A viewer alerted Channel 2’s Tony Thomas to a posting on a Christian anarchist site after Thomas reported the calendar thefts. The anonymous post claims credit for the theft of nearly 200 calendars.

Mall kiosk worker Chris Tott said he never saw the thieves who swiped calendars featuring Sports Illustrated models and Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders.

“All the calendars on the shelf were gone, all the girlie calendars,” Tott said.

The website post says three people are behind the shoplifting because, “Every day on the way to work we had to walk by this kiosk. Each passing encounter forced a specific sexuality and beauty standard upon us and we couldn’t take it anymore.”

Gwinnett police told Thomas they believe whoever posted on the JesusRadicals.com website is involved in the crime.

“They talked about wearing gloves. They talked about having a small team, one person to distract, another one to lookout and then the third person to actually load up the calendars,” Cpl. Jake Smith said.

now in police evidence and are being checked for fingerprints.

Kiosk owner Jessica Roy said the shoplifters are targeting the wrong people.

“We are not Sports Illustrated. We are a small business that’s just trying to make a living,” Roy said.

Thomas contacted the administrator of the website, who said he does not know anything about the crime aside from what was posted on the Internet.

On the weekend of Black Friday, a group of three people emptied a calendar stand of its entire stock of sexist and objectifying products.
